Cuervo Viejo Studio operates through small-batch production, evolving material systems, and limited object releases.
The information below covers the most common questions regarding production, shipping, materials, and custom work.
Collapsible content
Are all objects handmade?
Yes. Objects are produced in small batches through a combination of hand assembly, laser cutting, engraving, edge finishing, surface treatment, and material refinement within the studio.
Will the leather change over time?
Yes. Natural leather develops patina through handling, light exposure, compression, friction, and daily use. Surface shift, darkening, softening, and visible wear are considered part of the object’s lifespan rather than defects.
How long does production take?
Ready-to-ship inventory typically ships within 3–5 business days.
Made-to-order objects generally ship within 2–4 weeks depending on material availability, current workload, and production scheduling.
If a project is expected to exceed the stated production window, customers will be contacted directly with an updated timeline.
What are your shipping rates?
Domestic orders under $100 are charged a flat-rate shipping fee of $10.
Orders of $100 or more qualify for free domestic shipping.
Do you accept commissions or custom work?
Select commissions and collaborative projects may be accepted depending on schedule, material availability, production complexity, and current studio capacity.
Use the Contact page to discuss project inquiries.
Are engraved surfaces identical from piece to piece?
No. Surface treatment, engraving behavior, leather grain, and finishing variation are part of the studio process. Minor variation between objects is expected and intentional.
Do you offer returns?
Returns and exchanges are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Unused standard objects may be eligible for return within a limited timeframe after delivery.
Custom work, commissioned objects, personalized pieces, limited editions, and objects showing signs of use are generally not eligible for return or exchange.
If an object arrives damaged or incorrect, contact the studio as soon as possible after delivery.
What materials are used?
The studio primarily works with vegetable-tanned and premium full-grain leathers sourced from specialty suppliers and respected tanneries.
Additional materials may include metal hardware, engraved surfaces, illuminated mirrors, print-inspired textures, and experimental material systems.
Where are the objects made?
All objects are produced and fulfilled from Broomfield, Colorado through Cuervo Viejo Studio.
